5-7 Year Old School Day Program
We offer a multi-sensory reading, writing, and arithmetic remedial program for children in K-3 who have the need for alternative school instruction methods that include movement and hands-on learning. This group will meet from 8:45-2:15 Monday through Thursday (with an additional Friday option) during the school year. We will facilitate the same Whole Child Therapeutic Hands-On Approach that we use in our older school day programs as well as in our clinical setting. The teacher to child ratio is excellent so that the child gets much opportunity for direct instruction. There are 2 teachers to a whole group, including one licensed and certified Occupational Therapist, teaching to 12 students or less. Core learning remedial groups for reading, writing, and math are broken down even smaller according to each child’s needs in groups of 2-4 maximum. Each child will be evaluated for a plan of care so that their goals can be individually met. Additional subjects such as social studies, arts, sciences, and social emotional learning, culture through cooking, and more are enjoyed in the afternoon portion of our school day program for a well rounded educational experience. Students also have access to a variety of after school programming including additional therapies if needed, Chess Club, Community Service Club, Rocket Club, LEGO TECHNIC Club and more!
